Connecting Your LinkedIn Ads Account

Learn how to connect your LinkedIn Ads account to enable data exports with SyncRange.

Overview

Connecting your LinkedIn Ads account allows you to export valuable advertising data to Google Sheets, BigQuery, and Looker Studio for analysis, reporting, and business intelligence. This integration enables you to track campaigns, performance metrics, audience insights, and other critical advertising data automatically.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your LinkedIn Ads account, make sure you have:

Connecting Your LinkedIn Ads Account

Follow these steps to connect your LinkedIn Ads account:

  1. Navigate to Connections

    From your dashboard, go to the "Connections" section and select "LinkedIn" or click the "Connect" button if you haven't connected any accounts yet.

  2. Start the Authorization Process

    Click "Connect LinkedIn Ads Account" to begin the authorization process.

  3. Authorize the Integration

    You'll be redirected to LinkedIn to authorize the connection. Review the requested permissions and click "Allow" to proceed.

  4. Select Your Ad Account

    After authorization, you'll be prompted to select which LinkedIn Ads account you want to connect. Choose the account that contains the campaigns and data you want to export.

  5. Confirm Connection

    After selecting your ad account, you'll be redirected back to our platform where you'll see a confirmation that your LinkedIn Ads account has been successfully connected.

Note

The connection process requires admin permissions for your LinkedIn Ads account. If you don't have admin access, you'll need to ask an account administrator to complete this process.

Understanding LinkedIn Permissions

When connecting your LinkedIn Ads account, you'll be asked to grant specific permissions. Here's what each permission allows us to do:

Managing Your LinkedIn Connection

After connecting your LinkedIn Ads account, you can manage your connection from the LinkedIn Integration dashboard:

  • Connected ad account details
  • Connection status
  • Connection date

Reconnecting Your Account

If you encounter connection issues or need to refresh your authorization, you can reconnect your LinkedIn Ads account:

  1. Navigate to the LinkedIn Integration dashboard
  2. Click the "Reconnect Account" button
  3. Follow the authorization process again

Reconnecting is useful if you've changed permissions in LinkedIn or if your connection is experiencing issues.

Disconnecting Your Account

To disconnect your LinkedIn Ads account from the integration:

  1. Navigate to the LinkedIn Integration dashboard
  2. Click the "Disconnect Account" button
  3. Confirm the disconnection when prompted

Warning

Disconnecting your account will delete all connected LinkedIn services and any configured exporters. This action cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Authorization Failures

If you encounter issues during the authorization process:

  • Verify you have admin access to your LinkedIn Ads account
  • Ensure you're logged into the correct LinkedIn account
  • Check if your LinkedIn account has restrictions on third-party applications
  • Try clearing your browser cache and cookies

Connection Timeouts

If the connection process times out:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify that LinkedIn services are not experiencing downtime
  • Try connecting during non-peak hours
  • Attempt the connection from a different network

Expired Connections

If your connection shows as expired or invalid:

  • Use the "Reconnect Account" option to refresh your authorization
  • Check if your LinkedIn account's access settings have changed
  • Verify that your LinkedIn Ads account is active and in good standing

No Ad Accounts Found

If no advertising accounts are available for selection:

  • Verify that you have at least one active advertising account in LinkedIn Campaign Manager
  • Check if your LinkedIn account has the necessary permissions to access ad accounts
  • Ensure your advertising account is not paused or suspended
  • Contact LinkedIn support if you believe this is an error
