Connecting Your TikTok Account

Learn how to connect your TikTok Business account to enable data exports with SyncRange.

Overview

Connecting your TikTok Business account allows you to export valuable advertising data from TikTok campaigns to Google Sheets for analysis, reporting, and optimization. This integration enables you to track campaign performance, video metrics, engagement data, and ad insights automatically.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your TikTok account, make sure you have:

  • An active TikTok Business account
  • Admin access to the TikTok Business Manager or ad accounts you want to connect
  • Connected at least one Google Sheet (see Configuring Google Sheets)

Connecting Your TikTok Account

Follow these steps to connect your TikTok Business account:

  1. Navigate to Connections

    From your dashboard, go to the "Connections" section and select "TikTok" or click the "Connect" button if you haven't connected any TikTok accounts yet.

  2. Initiate the Connection

    Click the "Connect TikTok Account" button to begin the authorization process.

  3. Authorize the Integration

    You'll be redirected to TikTok to authorize the connection. Log in to your TikTok Business account if you're not already logged in.

  4. Select Permissions

    Review the requested permissions and select which ad accounts you want to connect. Click "Continue" to proceed.

  5. Confirm Connection

    After authorization, you'll be redirected back to our platform where you'll see a confirmation that your TikTok account has been successfully connected.

Note

The connection process requires admin permissions for your TikTok Business Manager or ad accounts. If you don't have admin access, you'll need to ask an administrator to complete this process.

Understanding TikTok Permissions

When connecting your TikTok account, you'll be asked to grant specific permissions. Here's what each permission allows us to do:

Important

We only request read-only access to your TikTok data. We cannot make changes to your ad accounts, campaigns, or ads.

Managing Your TikTok Connection

Viewing Connection Details

After connecting your TikTok account, you can view the connection details in the TikTok Integration dashboard:

  • Account name and ID
  • Connection status
  • Connected ad accounts and their status

Reconnecting Your Account

If your TikTok connection expires or you need to update permissions, you can reconnect your account:

  1. Go to the TikTok Integration dashboard
  2. Click the "Reconnect" button next to your account
  3. Follow the authorization process again
  4. Your connection will be updated with the latest permissions

Disconnecting Your Account

To disconnect your TikTok account:

  1. Go to the TikTok Integration dashboard
  2. Click the "Disconnect" button next to your account
  3. Confirm the disconnection in the popup dialog
  4. Your TikTok data will no longer be accessible through SyncRange

Warning

Disconnecting your TikTok account will stop all TikTok data exports. Make sure to update or remove any exports that depend on this connection before disconnecting.

Troubleshooting TikTok Connection Issues

Common Issues

"Failed to connect TikTok account"

This usually means there was an issue with the authorization process. Try the following:

  • Make sure you're logged into the correct TikTok Business account
  • Check that you have admin permissions for the ad accounts you want to connect
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting your account
  • Contact support if the issue persists

"No ad accounts found"

If you don't see any ad accounts after connecting:

  • Verify that you have active ad accounts in your TikTok Business Manager
  • Check that you have admin access to the ad accounts
  • Make sure your ad accounts are not suspended or restricted
  • Try reconnecting your TikTok account

"Connection expired"

If your connection expires:

  • Go to the TikTok Integration dashboard
  • Click "Reconnect" to refresh your connection
  • Follow the authorization process again
  • Your exports will resume automatically once reconnected
